Manufacturing 4140 Alloy Steel Tubing: 4140 alloy steel tubing is weldable but requires a pre-heat before welding. A519-4140 material is stocked in the annealed, normalized or quenched and tempered conditions. The heat treated material is controlled to L80, P110, Q125 or the customer’s specified properties.
