HARDOX 400 Abrasion Resistant Steel, HARDOX 500 Wear Resistant Plates

HARDOX 400 Abrasion Resistant Steel, HARDOX 500 Wear Resistant Plates Supplier, Steber Steel offers Abrasion And Wear Resistant Steel Plates in Grades HARDOX 400, HARDOX 450, HARDOX 500. The benefit of using HARDOX 400, HARDOX 450, HARDOX 500 abrasion and wear resistant steel is that that the plant, machinery or constructions working life can be extended considerably. This can significantly improve the reliability, durability and safety of structures and equipment.
HARDOX 400 abrasion resistant steel and HARDOX 500 wear resistant steels with a high HB rating (Brinell hardness) are intended for applications where wear or abrasion resistance is important. The benefit of using an abrasion resistant steel is that that the plant, machinery or constructions working life can be extended considerably. This can significantly improve the reliability, durability and safety of structures and equipment. It also helps to reduce the maintenance costs associated with wear and breakdown of plant.
Abrasion And Wear Resistant Steel Plates We can supply:
Thickness from 5mm to 150mm
Width: from 1,500mm to 2,500mm
Length: from 6,000mm to 12,000mm
HARDOX 400/ HARDOX 500 abrasion resistant steel is quenched which provides wear resistance; in order to improve hardness it may also be tempered. Lower HBâ s generally provide good cold bending properties and good weld ability. Weld ability is not generally reduced as the hardness increases. Wear resistant steels are not appropriate for use at temperatures over 250°C as the heat can cause changes to the material properties.
Testing is undertaken by firing 10mm steel or tungsten carbide ball at 29kN and the size of the resulting indentation is measured. Tests are carried out according to EN ISO 6506 or ASTM E10. The figures below are representative of 15mm thick 400HB and 500HB plates. Yields for 400HB steel are in the region of 1100 MPa with tensile strengths of about 1250 MPa.
Technical conditions:
1) Ultrasonic tested as per SA 578 or any other as per requirement
2) MTC acc to EN 10204 / 3.2
3) Charpy Impact tested at -20 /–46 DegC.
