Corten Steel A588 Heavy Plates

ASTM A588 heavy plate is weldable, formidable and tough. This ASTM A588  steel has the ability to achieve strength and toughness required from lighter material. A588 steel plate is well known for its weathering ability. When exposed to external conditions, its corrosion-resistant properties become stronger, even when unpainted. A588 steel platehas four times as much corrosion resistance as carbon steel.
ASTM A588 corten steel is a high strength alloy with outstanding resistance to atmospheric corrosion. It has advantages over other steels by its “weathering” ability giving the material atmospheric protection and prolonging the life of the metal. A588 corten steel heavy plate has a tensile strength of at least 70,000 psi, yield strength of at least 50,000 psi in steel up to 4” thick. Elongation is 16% in 8” and 19% in 2”. Some common applications are trucks, cranes, bridges, structures, etc.
